Welcome to Echoes of Storage

The faintest ink is better than the best memory.

So much information—especially information on the internet—is lost every day. A lot of this information consists of things that may be of great importance to future generations, even things that don't seem important to us now.

There have been efforts to archive data before, such as through the Internet Archive project. However, these projects are centralized with no real backup. Recent events where these sites were hacked mean that there is a possibility that one day this data will disappear.

Because of this, I propose a movement for individuals to archive data that could be lost, and share it with other people. It is simple, if you see something that might get taken down in the future, save it and make a backup. If it does get taken down, distribute it to other people to save.
